GHOST EXPEDITIONS
The Resurrection in New Orleans Ten Years Later
|
NEW ORLEANS:
In 1993, there were no organized
'ghost hunts' for the general public. That's when Parapsychologist
Dr. Larry Montz, 1972 founder of the ISPR, came up with what
quickly became a global pop phenomenon - Ghost Expeditions (October
1994). For the participants, it was the first and only opportunity
to participate in a paranormal field investigation combining
scientific and clairvoyant methodologies. And for Dr. Montz,
it was the first opportunity to study multiple haunted properties
on a daily basis as well as study the applications of Psi abilities
out of the lab and in the field - the launching premise behind
his revolutionary 'team' concept three decades earlier.
With so many calling back in Hollywood, the decision to close
the Ghost Expedition operation in New Orleans and re-open in
Los Angeles, became a reality in the fall of 1997. In L.A.,
Ghost Expeditions continued to grow in sophistication and applications
while using the formerly haunted Mann's Vogue Theatre on Hollywood
Boulevard. Due to the lack of owner upkeep resulting in the
growth of black mold on the property, The Vogue ceased as a
GE location in December 2001 at the time that the ISPR Team
cleared the property of its seven resident entities.
This October, Ghost Expeditions takes on another revolutionary
level and re-opens in its birth city of New Orleans. To implement
Ghost Expeditions with integrity and unparalleled sophistication,
ISPR has joined forces Gray Line New Orleans; the Big Easy's
most respected tour company.
Make no mistake however, Ghost Expeditions are not tours. "Gray
Line will in essence, be the business side of Ghost Expeditions
and of course, provide the transportation to and from the Ghost
Expedition sites, but the transportation is about as close to
any comparison to a tour that one can make", explains Daena
Smoller, an ISPR Investigator and former New Orleans GE Researcher.
"There's a lot of ghost tours in New Orleans now and that's
great if you want to walk around and listen to stories but for
those who want to dig in and actually use scientific hardware
and for those who want to experiment with their own psychic
abilities, there's only one choice, and that's a Ghost Expedition".
Both the ISPR and Gray Line New Orleans project that Ghost Expeditions
will be fully operational on October 1, 2004.
